🔦 Backlight Bleeding

Light leaking around screen edges in dark scenes. Common in IPS panels. Look for bright spots at corners and edges during black screen test.

☁️ Clouding / DSE

Uneven backlight distribution appearing as cloudy patches. Test with gray patterns to spot Dirty Screen Effect commonly seen during sports viewing.

🎨 Color Uniformity

Check for tint variations across the screen. Pure color tests (R/G/B) reveal color shift issues that affect image accuracy.

Testing Tips

  • Test in a dark room for best results
  • View screen from different angles
  • Check all four corners and center
  • Use gray patterns at 5%, 10%, 50% levels
  • Note any hotspots, lines, or discoloration
